Terra and Griffin arrived just before Thanksgiving and with the arrival of the new puppies ON Thanksgiving, I've not had a chance to announce their arrival!
Terra, Griffin and their four litter mates are a result of the first ever frozen surgical artificial insemination in our Hedlund Husky Preservation Project. In simple terms, we flew frozen Phoenix over to Alaska and voila! Chetan, the dam of the puppies, is from our Topa/Oken 2011 litter and lives with Stardancer Historical Freight Dog Kennels in Two Rivers, Alaska. We thought that Phoenix and she would make a perfect match for the perpetuation of the deep Hedlund line and indeed they did!
Terra is a precious doll that has all of the wonderful Hedlund qualities we seek. She's also a little tomboy that won't be stepped on by her much bigger brother. Griffin is as smart as a whip and kind of a stinker, always testing boundaries. He's also a big sweetheart and we love them both dearly. Phoenix seemed to know from the start that these two were his kids and he keeps a watchful eye over them, always playing and teaching.
